Now when I look back, it seems like a stupid decision to confess to her. I will try hard to just busy myself with work till the point of overloading. Don't really know what to write for this. But after reading it, realised that there were so many opportunities and chances that I missed. Felt something was wrong, asked but got a reply that everything is ok and I chose to bindly believe it. When the truth is that you are so tired and barely hanging on. The smile was just a facade all along. For the 2 years, i added on to your burden with my low confidence. And with the pressure of other things, you crumpled. If only.... I had done more things to help you push the negative away, you would have reached point B.

Been given so many chances to be strong, made good my promise but all I did is simply to waste time away with no concrete plans in sight. Guess I will still hang on till that someone comes along and takes care of you. Or maybe that guy is already here. Once that is accomplished, then I will focus on my goals. The strongest person still needs a partner for their emotional needs.

Guess I have been stagnant for a long time. Not going to uni, no improvement on my photography skills, still a simpleton and spending hours clicking away.

For the courses, I know it is in my interest to go for it and it is something that I need. But the hard truth hasn't smack me right in the face, hence I see no value in it. But I wonder if I will take another 5 years to wake up. Thats how long I took before going for my op.

Living a sheltered life and now I have entered the working world, I am totally lost. I see a blank path ahead. Lots of memories came back to my mind. So much that I wanted to wack the shit out of anything.

With my current status, I am unable to provide security to anyone. Thought you wanted to care for someone badly till old with all your heart, if you are unable to do so. Then you just have to cut the emotional strings of your heart and let that person be with someone who can take care of her.

So either I wake up, learnt to be streetwise and defensive. Else that will be the end of me.

错过的爱情

Much as I wanted to be that "Vegan, tattooed, biker, Christian boy !!!!", I can't and won't be. Its just not me. My opportunity is long gone. So all I hope is for someone she can rely on, is stronger than her. Someone whom she can pour out her sorrows to. Someone who can cure the darkness in her caused by her child abused memories. That shall be my birthday wish for this year.

It seriously sucks when you got an sms, but its not frm her. And usually its me who sends the sms to her. Makes me wonder if she got think of me. :( Hope that she can share her problems with me, although I know that I dun really understand. Or is able to provide a solution or say someting that can comfort her. Instead of the usual I am ok reply, even though I know that she is upset.

Just wanna spend a quiet moment together, with her lying on my shoulder. In the past, see that she is so tired that she doze off. Wish that she would rest her head on my shoulder instead of leaning against something else. Wish I can see her often, give her a hug, a kiss on her forehead to show that I care. A thing of the past since we drift apart.

Guess this time I really have to give up since she has already determined the kind of guy she wants. It is not what she wants, but she has no choice. If only we all can accept love regardless of gender.

For me its back to square one. Alone again. But thats ok, I got my camera with me at least. :) And I am used to it. Reality hits you. Bills to pay and mouths to feed. Happiness? A smile is a portray of feelings from your heart. But now it is just a expression that you wear on your face. From :D to :|

What good is there to always compare a kid with others who are far superior intellectually? What good is there keeping a kid in a safe area? To become a no confidence person who don't even know the places within where he stays? Only to enter the real world with a shock.

Where in the world to find a place where happiness is in abundance? I don't understand why some adults(ex kids) would do nasty things to kids. Giving them a permanent mark in their memories. I want to be able to help these kids, for them to be happy again.

I picked up photography so that people can smile when they see my pictures. Feeling that the day is great. For the fortunate ones, my pictures will show them that there are people who needs their help. For the unfortunate ones, my pictures will show them the vast world that they never got a chance to see.

On the other hand, a cosplayer used the pic i took of her to enter a cosplay comp. Well, happy since she chose it over others pictures. Then again, no recognition. Oh well, someday, maybe my name will be recognised.

A:Of course. However, I feel that if that person does not love you, you should try to get over it and love yourself more. Besides CNY and NDP, today is a day where you can see diff shades of red everywhere. On the way home, more couples can be seen. Smiling faces, ppl holding red roses, pink balloons, soft toys and even a huge basket of gifts which a petite girl seems to have trouble carrying. But surprisingly there is no PDA. And the occasional sight of a single? walking wondering when will cupid fire his arrow at them, ending their love drought. Well.. its better than the usual sight of red faces of acne struck ppl, and which I know I am guilty of.

Love comes in diff forms, and I realised it after searching through my memories. Finding wanting which I guess in bitter mood makes being single more appealing. It seems a struggle to choose between finding love and being single, for reasons which I won't divulge. Pros and cons for everything.

For valentines day, wished that work would have been a lot better, without some dumb shit stuff to irritate me further. Like the thought of an operation has done a good job irritating me. Guess at my age, I would love to trade time for $, but doesn't seems like a smart move given that superiors leverage on you.

Halfway through my bus journey home, saw a JC couple. Smiling, girl holding a rose. Bus doors open, girl bids guy goodbye and left. Guy looks out of the window, looking at the girl walking home but she didn't turn back, till the bus zooms off to the next stop. If I could view their life, like fast forward it, see how things would turn out.

Finally the bus reach my stop. Walked past the small eatery at the void deck(which used to be empty and great for soccer or indoor badminton) and the nice smell of food hits my nose. Would really love it if there is a nice treat for me. Guess to get a guy's love, holding his stomach hostage with nice food is really true.

Happiness depends upon ourselves

Almost as soon as he wakes up at 8am each day, property agent Kevin Tu is already tired.

He drags himself to work, and puts in nine hours in front of the computer and with clients. Then he goes home to his one-bedroom apartment in the south side of Beijing to stare at TV shows alone.

A go-getting executive in a multi-national company just a few years ago, Tu, 31, now lives just "one day at a time", as he puts it.

That might be the motto for a growing group of fatigued young, white-collar Chinese known as 'eraser' or 'plasticine' men (xiang pi ren).

Brow-beaten out of shape by life, they show little if any response as they are kneaded this way and that, reported a local news magazine which has popularised the term now spreading in Chinese cyberspace.

Broadly defined, they are mostly white-collar workers who are somewhat numb to life, have no dreams, interests or ideals, and do not feel much pain - or joy - reported the Guangzhou-based New Weekly magazine.

There are no known academic studies on this phenomenon, but the magazine cited a survey carried out last year by The Beijing News newspaper and Sina Web portal of 1,700 people across China.

It showed that 70 per cent of them displayed signs of job burnout.

Almost 60 per cent of the companies polled also said that the incidence of burnout among their employees had increased.

These 'plasticine men' can be found among doctors, bank employees, teachers, journalists, traffic policemen, civil servants, actors and taxi drivers, the magazine reported. Typically, they work alone and for more than 50 hours a week. They feel as if they have expended all their energy and all they get in return is a sense of emptiness.

The term comes from a 1986 book, Xiang Pi Ren (Plasticine Man), by still-popular novelist Wang Shuo, that was later made into a film entitled Out Of Breath (Da chuan qi).

It tells the story of a plucky young man who arrives in the southern economic powerhouse of Guangzhou with lofty dreams. Cheated many times over in business, he ends up in jail where he is repeatedly beaten up by fellow prisoners.

He is left indifferent and dehumanised, feeling nothing when he discovers his lover has long been stringing him along.

That fictional depiction might be a tad dramatised, but soulless white-collar Chinese workers who feel entrapped in this pressure-cooker society are not difficult to find. While he is not depressed and surrounds himself with friends, Mr Tu said he feels much like a 'plasticine man'.

"Everything just feels very bland," he said. "I have no ambition, no real goal in life and I just don't feel interested in anything anymore, even in hobbies I used to have."

The native of Wuhan city in central China lives in Beijing alone.

Most Chinese men his age would be married and about to start a family, but Mr Tu said: "Now that I feel stuck in my career, I am in no mood to look for a mate."

Advertising executive Wang Xin, 29, on the other hand, is equally jaded about her job but puts her energy into finding a husband - by dating assembly-line style.

She spends hours every night 'mechanically' checking two match-making websites "like a stockbroker checking stock prices", she said.

She exchanges e-mail or messages on social networking sites with the men she might have some luck with. Wang has dated - and broken up with - three men in the past eight months.

"I feel very trapped in my boring job of six years, but I keep thinking I have to first find someone to marry and then move on in my career, so I keep trying," she said.

She does not quite see herself as a 'plasticine' person, however.

"I feel stuck in life. And I feel confused, trapped. But I can't find the motivation to do something about it," she said.

"I want to change my life, but I don't know the way out."

If there is a growing group of 'plasticine men' among China's white-collar class, it is hardly surprising, said outspoken sociology professor Zhou Xiaozheng of Renmin University in Beijing.

"We are all slaves these days. Buy a house and you're a 'house slave' (fang nu). Buy a car and you're a 'car slave' (che nu). Bear a child and you're a 'child slave' (hai nu)," he said.

Just last week, the official People's Daily reported that the burgeoning ranks being labelled 'middle class' in China are battling daily worries about paying for a house, car and credit card bills.

"Young Chinese feel suppressed by pressure on many fronts," said professor Zhou. "Once they graduate, they have to fight to find a job, make enough money to buy a home amid soaring property prices, and once they do that they are in debt for a long time."

"My generation had more ideals, more room to fulfil those ideals," he added.

The root source of these woes is the great inequality in Chinese society today, he said, noting that powerful elite interest groups keep a stranglehold on wealth.

"In China, if you're not born into the elite, then you're just unlucky for life," professor Zhou said.

For his part, Tu is concerned less with money than about finding his zest for life again.

"Maybe this numbness is just a phase," he said, thinking aloud. "Or maybe life will just be this bland for me and I'll just have to accept that this is it."

Physical

You’ll always find him asking questions – not just any question but what you think he should do given the situation he is in.
